Our Technicians
Mechelle Gilbert, CVT
Mechelle was born and raised in the suburbs of Denver, CO, where she graduated from Bel Rea Institute in 1993 as a certified veterinary technician. She has been a certified veterinary technician for over 16 years. After moving to Oregon 14 years ago, she started working at The Pet Clinic. Mechelle is an all-around experienced technician and her many duties include dentistry, surgery preparation and assistance, anesthesia administration, collecting blood samples and performing in house laboratory tests, exam room procedures, performing ultrasounds and taking radiographs.
In 2000-2001 Mechelle served a 19 month mission for her church in Moscow, Russia. Now she currently serves in her church's children's organization.
In her free time she enjoys training and riding her two horses "Sarge" and "Miss.E", playing with her smaller animals, which includes 2 dogs, "Laika" and "Max, and 4 cats, "Lilly, Princess, B.G., and Leo". She also loves to read and play with her 2 nieces and 4 nephews.
Amanda Golden, CVA
Amanda joined The Pet Clinic in March, 2011 to pursue her dream of working with animals.
Amanda attended Apollo College to become a certified veterinary assistant in July, 2009.
She began her animal career with horses and later expanded her skills to include small animals. Her horse training allows her to have a special calming bond with patients.
Amanda lives in West Salem with her husband Donald and their 2 boys. They share their home with 2 dogs, Zoee and Spot.
